Church Core Group
The Core Group is a pastoral planning group made up of six representatives of the Holy Family community who meet regularly with one of the priests. This group is formed from names proposed by the community and serve for a two year period. Their role is to be a channel of communication for the views and hopes of the community, which can then be fed into the Parish Pastoral Plan and work of the Parish Pastoral Council
There is a suggestion box at the back of the church where you can leave any issues you wish to be raised in the Core Group. Alternatively you can contact us via email on or on 01737 243781.
CORE GROUP MEMBERS REQUIRED
Please consider volunteering to be a member of one of
the core groups of the Parish of the Nativity of Lord,
or nominating another (with permission). The role is
open to anyone in the community of St Joseph’s, Holy
Family or St Teresa’s.
We apologise that, with all the changes in the Parish,
the process begun last year will need to be restarted.
All names are to be submitted in writing to the
Presbytery by May 30th 2012.
The Core Group meets four times a year, and discusses
issues that have been raised by parishioners through the
suggestion box at the back of each church, the Core
Group email address, or direct to Core Group members.
Having considered the issues raised, it passes them to
the Parish Pastoral Committee, the Clergy Meetings or
the appropriate Parish body that can act on them where
appropriate.
Minutes of all meetings can be seen on the notice board
at the back of the Church or the Parish website. The
function of the Core Groups is to facilitate the merger
of the three Church communities into one Parish and
provide a voice for the hopes and concerns of
parishioners during this period of change. This process
is still on-going and Core Groups have a vital role to
play in the healthy functioning of our community.

News from Holy Family Core Group
The Core Group are delighted with the response to the starting up of regular clinic sessions. These provide parishioners with the opportunity to voice their concerns and make suggestions for the development of our community at Holy Family. A particularly pleasing outcome was the setting up of new Advent prayer groups, suggested by a member of the Reigate congregation as a result of coming along to the clinic and organised by a team involving parishioners from Merstham, Redhill and Reigate. Sixty people signed up to take part, and participants responded very positively about the groups. The Core Group would love to hear from all parishioners who have suggestions about how we can improve the ways we worship and spread God’s word. Why not come along to a clinic?
