MAY 2012

St Teresa's - Admin Arrangements

Please note that the former presbytery is no longer a presbytery but a private dwelling (albeit for Fr Charles). Obviously there are practicalities related to this and details are outlined on the website under St Teresa’s. Grateful thanks to Icona and the Merstham Finance Team for sorting these issues and also thank you, the parishioners, for your understanding. All enquiries to 01737 761017.

Parish Food Collection

For some years now in the month of May the Co-workers of Mother Theresa in our Parish have been collecting food for the Missionaries of Charity Soup Kitchen in Southall. Your parish SVP and Justice and Peace groups have agreed to collaborate with the Co-workers to maintain this custom. For this month only, therefore, the contents of our yellow baskets from all three churches will go to this worthy cause. Please continue to fill the yellow baskets which can be found, clearly signed, at the back of our churches after all masses. In June we shall revert to our collaboration with the Salvation Army. The report from the Salvation Army on how our gifts help the local community is most encouraging and will be made available to parishioners in the coming weeks.

20th May - Communications Sunday

On World Communications Day we are asked to keep those who work in the media in our prayers and there will be a second collection for the Catholic Communications Network (CCN), the media office of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. The CCN provides support for the bishops of England and Wales and the Church more widely in promoting the Gospel through the media on current issues, and was responsible for the Church’s media coordination of the Papal Visit. Please help the CCN to promote the Good News through the media, by your prayers and generosity.

Our three Children’s liturgy groups from Reigate, Redhill and Merstham will be participating in the Sunday mass at our 9am, 10.30am and 11am Masses. The homily will also include a special message for our children on this day. The three priests look forward to celebrating with you!

Before going ahead, it would be helpful for the clergy team and Merstham core group to have comment and feedback about this possibility, either now or after Tracey's brief outline. It would be an initiative for the whole of the Parish of the Nativity of the Lord to be involved in.
