Groups

There are many groups and clubs that meet across the parish. These groups are open to welcoming anybody from within the parish who would be interested in getting involved. Some groups are more social, others more focused on prayer & spirituality, while others look to caring for those in particular need in the community.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society seeks to find those who may be in need of support either due to poor health, loneliness, financial hardship, effects of addiction or simply through unfortunate circumstances. The members work to visit those in need to meet their material and spiritual needs.

To support this work the members meet regularly to pray together and develop their own spirituality so that they both deepen their own personal relationship with God and have the gifts they need to carry out the work of the Society.

The SVP is always in need of new members to carry out this work so if you would like to find out more, please contact:           PAMELA SCHWENK: 01737 789697;                                            RAY HUSSEY: 01737 761839;                                                     SVP National Office on 0207 407 4644 or email info@svp.org.uk

Another organisation is the Catenian Association, an international body of Catholic men, mainly (but not exclusively) from the professions and the world of business. Bound together by their Catholicism, members seek to increase the faith through personal and collective example; to foster friendship amongst the members and their families; to provide spiritual, financial and moral support for those in difficulty or need; to provide support to the Catholic clergy; and to help young Catholics in their early careers. Founded in 1908, the Association now has about eleven thousand members in the UK, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, Hong Kong, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malta. Members belong to 'Circles', the Reigate circle being our local one. In addition to monthly meetings, sometimes followed by a dinner, each Circle has a range of social and spiritual activities, often involving other family members. To find out more, please contact the parish office.

There is also the Union of Catholic Mothers. Founded in 1913 to unite Catholic married women, the UCM's aim is to follow the full Christian ideal of marriage and family life providing commitment, stability and security in the home, the Church, the world. They help the poor, the homeless, the marginalised, the refugee, the ill and the weary, and work to support those in need.

Membership is open to all Catholic women, married or single.  To find out more, please contact:
